Education
Signals Media Arts Centre is committed to providing opportunities for everyone to participate in creative media production. We put our educational activities at the heart of everything we do.
Signals regularly works in schools and with further and higher education, providing high quality practical media training and skills. Teaching pupils directly and also by supporting teachers and trainers.
Signals also uses digital media as a tool to engage disadvantaged young people through training and projects. We know that digital media can spark debate, inspire and motivate participants and Signals has great success and experience of working with disadvantaged and hard to reach groups.
Signals also offers continuing professional development and INSET training for teachers, youth workers and artists. Providing training in production, helping to develop digital innovation and sharing best practice.
In 2010, Signals set up a Youth Film Club for young people aged 11 to 17 years. This provides equipment and space for young people who want to learn the technical and creative skills involved in film production.
We have an exciting programme of educational activities including workshops, courses and projects that run throughout the year.
